Jet Builders Turn To Risk Sharing

A recent article in The Daily Herald describes a new trend towards risk sharing in the development of new jets. C&D Aerospace, and its Marysville, Wash., USA affiliate Northwest Composites, will invest US$10 million in tooling development and interior design for the Embraer 170/190. Boeing will be taking a similar approach - though on a much larger scale - on the development of the 7E7.
