Big Market for Injection Molded Wood-Plastic Composites

A new study by Principia Consulting sees an emerging business opportunity in the injection molding of wood-plastic composites (WPCs). Total WPC demand in 2002 was US$750 million: almost all of that was in extrusions, with injection molding accounting for only 2 percent of the total. Principia projects injection molding of WPCs will grow to US$300 million annually by 2007.
