Texas Goes After 7E7 Assembly
Tuesday September 30, 2003
Texas Governor Rick Perry and other state leaders have agreed to offer Boeing $30 million to locate the 7E7 assembly plant in their state. Washington state has offered $3.2 billion in tax breaks, and Tulsa, Oklahoma has offered $370 million in cash and loans. Georgia and Alabama are also expected to offer incentives. Whether or not Texas wins the assembly plant, it is likely to be involved in 7E7 production: Vought Aircraft, based in Dallas, has formed a joint venture with Alenia Aeronautica (Italy) to work on the 7E7.
