Mercedes-Benz F500 Research Vehicle

Mercedes-Benz will unveil its F500 research vehicle at the 37th Tokyo Motor Show. Among many innovations, Mercedes-Benz has partnered with McLaren to develop a body consisting almost entirely of carbon fiber composites. Advantages of the composite include lighter weight than steel and better energy absorption than steel or aluminum. The disk brakes are made from a ceramic matrix composite.
