Dave Barry Comments on Space Elevator

In an earlier post, I commented on excessive optimism at the Second Annual International Conference on the Space Elevator. Now columnist Dave Barry points out some of the other problems with the proposed elevator. Among some of the issues: carbon nanotubes ("in layperson's terms, ... nanotubes made out of carbon"), kids hitting the buttons for all 32 million floors, and the lack of functioning "close door" buttons.
