Wednesday November 26, 2003
The third protoype of India's light combat aircraft (LCA) has completed its first test flight. The Tejas PV-1, as the aircraft is called, is built with composites comprising 40 percent of its structural weight and 95 percent of the aircraft skin surface. This has resulted in weight reduction of 746 kg as compared to the first two aircraft, giving it enhanced performance and operational capability.
