New Glass Mat Thermoplastic Offers Enhanced Properties

SymaLITE GMT, and new glass mat thermoplastic from Quadrant Plastics Composites, offers 20 percent to 50 percent better mechanical properties than competing materials, and can be expanded to many times its original thickness after heating. SymaLITE is based on polypropylene and oriented glass fibers. It is being used in underbody panels for BMW's 5- and 6- series sedans.
