Cargill Commercializing Soy Polyols

Soybean polyol can form the basis for a wide range of polyurethane products, including foam, plastics and composites. Cargill could begin refining soy polyol for commercial use in as little as 18 months. The federal Biomass and Energy Development Act of 2000 sets a goal of converting 25 percent of the chemical manufacturing industry to bio-based products by 2030.
