First it was mini, then micro, and now it is nano. Nano is the current catch term for high performance businesses. It seems like many new developments are using nano particles or nano tubes.
In the composites realm, it seems like carbon nanotubes are a big buzzword. But what exactly are carbon nanotubes?
Perhaps one of my favorite explanations came from a gentleman I met some while back who was running a small nano-tech company, he said, "Picture the way pasta is made, now picture each strand of spaghetti is a strand of carbon fiber, now picture much much much smaller holes and smaller strands, and you have carbon nanotubes"
