Many do not realize the importance in finishing, polishing, and sanding composites.
However, it is...
It all starts at the plug that the mold is made off of. The plug needs to be coated and finished extremely well, because when the mold is made it will copy the plug surface exactly. The mold, once removed from the plug needs to be further polished. The goal is to have a perfect surface finish on the mold, so that ever part comes off perfect too. Sloppy work at the plug will lead to a sloppy mold, and ultimately a sloppy composite part.
