AASC Ships HS 702 Satellite Bus Structure

Stockton, California - Applied Aerospace Structures Corp. (AASC) was recognized by Hughes Space and Communications Company for on-time delivery of the HS 702 Satellite Bus Structure. A joint celebration was hosted by Mr. Brian Legros, Hughes Deputy Operations Leader, Mr. John Schmidt, Hughes Subcontracts Manager, and Mr. John Rule, President of AASC, at AASC's facility in Stockton, California.

This satellite bus structure is for Hughes' new high-power HS 702 model, and is the first to be manufactured outside Hughes' Integrated Satellite Factory in El Segundo, California. AASC is currently under contract for an additional HS 702 bus structure to be delivered later this year. AASC also manufactures HS 376HP satellite structures for Hughes.

AASC is a leading manufacturer of composites and metal bond structures. AASC has fabricated over 100 satellite bus structures since 1968. Its customers include major commercial aircraft and space satellite companies like Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Hughes, Loral, Lockheed Martin, NASA, EMS Technologies, OSC and Ball Aerospace. The company was founded in 1956 and is based in Stockton, California.
