New Avcorp President and CEO

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - Avcorp Industries (TSE:AVP) Avcorp Industries Inc. (AVP on the Toronto Stock Exchange) announces the appointment of Mr. John W. Sandford as the President and Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.

Mr. Sandford is a veteran of the aerospace industry in Canada, the US and the UK. He replaces Mr. Peter Jeffrey who, after ten years, has resigned his position with the Company to pursue other opportunities.

Mr. Sandford joined the Avcorp Board last year and has served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee. He is also the Chairman of Cade Industries, an aerospace company with head quarters in Lansing, Michigan. He retired from Rolls Royce North America Inc. in 1998 where he had served as CEO and Chairman. He has extensive operating experience in the Canadian, US and UK aerospace industry having served as the CEO of Gulfstream Aerospace, Fairchild-Republic and de Havilland Aircraft of Canada. Prior to these positions, he spent seventeen years with Rockwell International in various engineering and executive management capacities.
