Kafus Rated Strong Buy

SAN FRANCISCO - Impact Capital Partners Limited initiates coverage of Kafus Industries Ltd. (AMEX:KS) with a "Strong Buy" rating and a price target of $25-46 per share over the next two years.

Kafus Industries is engaged in the development of a series of technologies which produce commodity-type products based on the use of post consumer and industrial wastes and other non-conventional sustainable and renewable raw materials. These products include the world's first Medium Density Fiberboards using 100% recovered urban wood waste, tree-free paper for newsprint and other applications including natural fiber composites used in auto parts and molded furniture, fiber cement siding, and organic fertilizer.

Kafus' global strategy relies on being a low-cost producer of superior quality materials, innovative and disciplined project financing, and forging strong strategic alliances with such key players as Enron, Ford's Visteon Automotive Systems, Merrill Lynch, Temple Inland, Timber Products Company, Stone & Webster, and others.

In its recently published research report, Impact Capital says "Kafus' management is creating a major international presence by changing the status quo of commodity production." The report goes on to say that "Kafus is successfully transitioning from a development to a production phase, and is poised for growth with its developing technology and strategic alliances ... the company embodies an excellent earnings growth story that has yet to catch the attention of investors."
