AASC Wins Navy Radome Contract

Stockton, California - Applied Aerospace Structures Corp. (AASC) has won the TRAC-A Radome (Total Radiation Aperture Control AEW Antenna) contract for L3/Randtron Antenna Systems located in Menlo Park, California. This antenna is mounted on top of the E-2C Hawkeye aircraft and is used by the navy for fleet protection. The U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Customs Service also use this antenna for anti-narcotics smuggling operations. It is also used by various governments throughout the world including Japan, Egypt, Israel and Singapore.

The antenna consists of a 24-foot rotating, aerodynamic radome, and forward and aft auxiliary antennas. It is also equipped with lightning strike protection on the upper surfaces.
