FiberCote Appoints New Technical Director

FiberCote Industries is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Steven Peake as Technical Director, effective August 1, 2001. Dr. Shari Bugaj has announced her resignation from this position, but will remain with FiberCote through the balance of July assisting Steve in a job transition of all technical projects and qualifications. Shari will continue to actively manage the technical group until month end.

Steve Peake has been involved with advanced composites and structural adhesives since 1982. He was previously a member of the Matrix Resin Group at American Cyanamid, which performed fundamental research into the structure-property relationships and toughening mechanisms for continuous fiber reinforced composites. He managed the Matrix Resin Group for 6 years, before he became the Director of Adhesives R&D for American Cyanamid/Cytec Industries from 1990-1996. In his most recent position, Steve was Technical Director for New Business Development at Cytec Fiberite. Other positions held at Cytec Fiberite were Business Manager of Advanced Materials and Director of Technology and Contracts.

A native of Amarillo, Texas, Steve received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Texas, Austin and earned a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His wife Lisa and daughter Rebecca will be relocating to the Waterbury area. His son, Daniel, will be entering the University of Maryland at College Park this fall.
