COBRAE Seeks Nominations for Chairperson
At the last COBRAE Executive Council Meeting in Rotterdam it was decided that a call would be made to nominate a Chair person, able and willing to take over the task from Ron Brown. Ron agreed to chair COBRAE until this new Chairperson was found and hopefully takes his place in March 2003. It was indicate that someone from a University or Research Institute would be preferred.
The COBRAE Alliance office was asked to put out a call for nomination and this is a reminder to all COBRAE contacts to come forward with names of persons who qualify for this honorary position.
Ideally the Chair person should be:
- well informed about the structural and bridge engineering field.
- well informed about polymer composite technology.
- a person with some authority in these fields and international reputation.
- candidate should be independent and preferably not commercially orientated.
- willing to fulfill this unpaid position for a period of min. 2 years but preferably longer.
- Be the "primus interparus" of the Executive Council.
- Fulfill external representation tasks.
- Chair one Exec. Council meeting and one General Members meetings per annum.
- Represent COBRAE at conferences and official events related to the subject of Composite Structural and Bridge technology.
