Definition:
A family of high-strength, lightweight aromatic amide reinforcing fibers used to produce composites with high modulus, fatigue resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, and good electrical properties. The long chain synthetic aromatic polyamide consists of at least 85% of the amide linkages attached directly to two aromatic rings.
