Definition: A special type of glass used as a fiber reinforcement, made and applied specifically for high chemical resistance. The composition is 64.6% SiO2, 4.1% Al2O3·Fe2O3, 13.4% CaO, 3.3% MgO, 9.6% Na2O·K2O, 4.7% B2O3 and 0.9% BaO. The symbol C was originally chosen for chemical resistance. See also GLASS.
