Definition:
A carrier is the part of a braiding machine holding the package of yarn. It is a key element in the braiding mechanism for maintaining constant yarn tension and permitting the yarn to either feed or retract. During braiding the carriers change their distance to the convergence point as they move in the braiding plane.
