About Composites/Plastics
About Industry & Business

Definition: Cement mortar and concrete differ from most matrices used in fiber composites in that they have low tensile strength (< 7 MPa) and very low strain to failure in tension (<0.05%). These properties result in materials which are rather brittle when subjected to impact loads. The main types of fibers which have been successfully used in fiber composites include asbestos, cellulose, glass, polypropylene and steel.
