Definition: A low alkali borosilicate glass with good electrical and mechanical properties and good chemical resistance. This type of glass is the most widely used in fibers for reinforcing plastics. Its high resistivity makes E-glass suitable for electrical laminates. The designation E is for electrical. See also GLASS.
