Definition:
An induction heating method for welding thermoset or thermoplastics. One technique places ferromagnetic compounds at the bonding surface which is exposed to a high-frequency alternating current. The resulting heat losses, in the form of eddy currents and hysteresis, cause the bond surfaces to quickly reach fusion or cure temperature.
