Definition:
A sheet thermoforming process in which the heated plastic sheet is shaped between male and female portions of a matched mold. The molds may be of metal or plaster, wood, epoxy resin, etc., but must be vented to permit the escape of air as the mold closes. See also THERMOFORMING.
