Definition: A variation of the hot plate welding method. A metallic tape acting as a resistance element is adhered to the thermoplastic composite material to be welded, and low voltage is applied to heat the material to softening temperature. Also known as RESISTANCE WELDING and RESISTANCE HEATING.
