Definition: With respect to molecular interactions in dilute polymer solutions, theta temperature is the temperature at which the second virial coefficient disappears. That is, the temperature at which the coiled polymer molecules expand to their full contour lengths and become rod-shaped. Also known as FLORY TEMPERATURE.
