Vinyl esters are chemically similar to both unsaturated polyesters and epoxy resins. They were developed as a compromise between the two materials, providing the simplicity and low cost of polyesters and the thermal and mechanical properties of epoxies. Vinyl esters can also be used in wet layups and liquid molding processes such as RTM.

Also Known As: Vinylester.
