About Fibers Used in Composites

Most structural composites are reinforced with continuous or short fibers. The fibers may be aramid (including Kevlar), carbon or graphite, glass, ceramic, quartz, natural materials (hemp, flax, kenaf, etc.), and many others. Each type of fiber has its own unique properties that make it suitable for different uses.
